Summer Work in the Netherlands
Summer is in full swing! The days are longer, the sun shines more often, and the temperatures are rising. That’s great – but if you work in logistics, production or technical jobs, it can also be challenging. Working in warm weather requires a bit of extra care. That’s why we’re sharing helpful tips to stay fit at work and fun ideas to enjoy your free time.
💧 1. Stay hydrated
In warm weather, your body loses more fluids. So it’s important to drink enough throughout the day: water, tea or juice – every bit helps. Always bring a bottle with you. Feeling thirsty, dizzy or getting a headache? That could be a sign of dehydration. Drink extra and take a break in a cool spot when needed.
🧊 2. Take regular breaks
Make the most of your break to cool down and recharge. Find a shady place or step outside if it’s too stuffy indoors. Even a short pause can make a big difference, especially on hot days. Feeling too warm at work? Talk to your team leader or your Sagius contact – we’re here to help.
🥗 3. Eat light, eat smart
Hot weather often makes you feel less hungry. Go for something light and fresh: salad, fruit or soup. That way, your energy stays up. Tip: bring chilled food or a yogurt drink in a cooler bag – it really helps!
🏖️ 4. Enjoy your free time!
Work is important, but summer is also meant for fun. Luckily, there’s plenty to do in the Netherlands:
-
Go swimming at a lake or outdoor pool
-
Explore a city like Rotterdam, Breda or Nijmegen
-
BBQ with friends in the park or near your home
-
Visit a summer festival or local market
-
Rent a bike and discover the area
Not sure what’s available nearby? Just ask your Sagius contact – we’ll be happy to help!
