As of July 1, 2025, the statutory minimum hourly wage in the Netherlands will increase to €14.40 gross per hour for employees aged 21 and older. This 2.42% increase, compared to the previous rate of €14.06, is aimed at maintaining employees’ purchasing power in response to inflation.

What does this mean in practice?

For a full-time 40-hour work week, this equates to a gross monthly salary of €2,496, excluding holiday pay. If you work 24 hours per week, your gross monthly income will be €1,497.60.

Why is this increase important?
